1: What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
Become a mom! Also, completed a mud challenge & Warrior Dash, ran a sub-25 min. 5k and did a forearm headstand.
35: Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012.
God’s timing is perfect- My school closed and we got the call about Ryland 3 weeks later before I had yet found another job.
8: What was your biggest achievement of the year?
One of my students from the past school year wasn’t a very strong student and didn’t get great grades, but his mom said that was okay because for the first time, he cared about school and would study and do his homework without being told.
16: What song will always remind you of 2012?
Perhaps it doesn’t count, but the song I made up for Ryland.
24: What was the best book you read?
I know I talk about it all the time, but the only knew-to-me book that really jumps out is Intuitive Eating.

Congratulations! I’m actually a foster care and adoption social worker. My kiddos are adopted too. Can I ask what type of adoption you’re going to do?
It’s a domestic adoption. We’re actually adopting out of Florida because the local agency (that did our homestudy) doesn’t place many babies. We want a baby, but not necessarily an infant. We also said we’d take twins or a very young sibling group.
