The only times I taste out of place flavors is when there have been cleaning supplies too near the food I purchased. Maybe pine sol type cleaner got on the clementines at some point prior to you purchasing them? I’m sensitive to that kind of thing.

That’s a good possible thing for the clementine today. I did buy them from Walmart, so who knows what they were shipped next to. I think I noticed the smell when I started peeling it, so the “taste” might have just been the lingering scent.

I tried researching (which I love doing) this both yesterday and today using various search strings and… nothing. Some form of synesthesia, maybe, but even then, it doesn’t quite target what you’re describing. Hmm.

Yeah. There’s nothing that quite fits. I’ve even looked at smell disorders, but what I’ve read seems to indicate that I would’ve noticed distorted smells at other times.

I did read yesterday to wait until it lasts for more than 2 weeks, and at that point you should go to the doctor, so I think I’ll give it until next week.
