The retreat is at the same camp I go to be a counselor for a week each summer.
We got there Friday night, ate dinner, waited on the stragglers, and had our first devotional. Our theme was “I will sing with my spirit and with my understanding,” taken from 1 Corinthians 14:15. Friday we talked about the context of the verse. Then the kids were put to bed and we played cards (Nerts and Spoons). Then we went out to the basketball court, but I just threw a frisbee because I was wearing flip flops and stink at b-ball until my back hurt in this spot where I hurt it when I fell while racing my students backward a couple years ago. I was going to go on to bed since I was hurting, but when back to the mess hall (where we were playing cards) to get water and ibuprofen, and ended up talking for a while and didn’t go to bed until after 1.
I slept terribly because of a snorer and 3 toddlers upset about sleeping in a strange place, and only got about 2 hours asleep even though I was in bed for 6 hours.
Saturday we had breakfast, then the annual family kickball game, which my team owned. Then we had our devo of the day, which talked about the meaning behind some of the harder to understand song lyrics. Then we had lunch. After lunch was supposed to be either sports or nap time, and Jeremy and I were hoping there would be people to play Ultimate frisbee with or football or something, but almost everyone either napped or canoed. He played some ping pong and I found this weird scooter that worked with a foot pump in the back and rode around the basketball court until my hips died. I took some pictures of kids making sand angels after playing in the water. I went for a walk because I needed to do something active. I would’ve loved to have run, but I really needed the rest day. Here’s the Garmin data from walking around and playing kickball:

Umm, I didn’t climb a mountain at the start, but the rest is pretty accurate.
And from my walk:

(I walked down this hill, but my walk was basically up down and around the hill a couple times.
I changed into un-sweaty clothes. Then we had a Bible bowl (which, once again, my team owned), dinner, and singing. We talked for a while, but we were all really tired, so didn’t stay up as late. I was in bed by 11:30.
Sunday we had breakfast, then worship, cleaning up, lunch, and more cleaning up.
I had a really good weekend, but I’m definitely ready to get back to making good food choices.
