I really miss running.
I was at camp last week, so running was built into the soccer, ultimate, & flag football I played.
Last Saturday I was too tired still, and Sunday afternoon was too hot.
I ran Monday and Tuesday.
Wednesday would’ve been a rest day even if THE cramps hadn’t hit.
Thursday I still had the cramps and decided it would be best to rest from running since we were starting our backpacking trip that night.
Friday we walked so long because of having to go slow for Jeremy at the end. We were on our feet ~7 hours, if you include packing up camp, most of the time with our packs on. My feet were really hurting by the time we got back to the car.
Yesterday, after we decided to turn back, I thought that I would get to run today since we weren’t hiking any more and I was excited to get some miles it. However, this morning, when I saw how bad the back of my knees was and that some of the bumps had started to blister, I realized that running in these hot, humid temps would only make it worse.
Tomorrow afternoon will be too hot again, even if my bumps do improve enough to allow it.
Hopefully I’ll be able to run on Monday. If not, I’ll have to figure something out. Maybe I can get Jeremy to finally adjust my bike tomorrow and I can go for a ride and the heat won’t be so bad with the bike breeze. Or I’ll work out in my air conditioning with minimal clothes and probably no socks and shoes. It won’t be the same as a run, but at least I can escape the feeling that my stomach is bigger every time I look in the mirror.
Yes, I do run because I love it, but it also helps me keep my head balanced.
Well, sort of.
It’ll be another early night because I woke up itching several times during the night. I’ll definitely take benydryl again because that helped last night. (It’s okay to stack it with Zyrtec, right?)
